Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 14, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Mobile Home Handbook collects when you visit mobilehomehandbook.com, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.

We have tried to write this in the same plain English as the rest of the site. If anything here is unclear, write to us and we will explain it.

Who we are

Mobile Home Handbook is owned and operated by Sergio Cobos Juan, based in Alicante, Spain.

For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR, Sergio Cobos Juan is the data controller for this website.

What we collect

Information you give us

  • Email address, if you subscribe to our newsletter or download a resource such as the inspection checklist.
  • Name, email address and message, if you use our contact form.

That is all. We do not ask for postal addresses, phone numbers, payment details or any information about your home beyond what you choose to tell us in a message.

Information collected automatically

When you visit this site, the following is collected automatically, mostly by third-party services:

  • Usage data: pages visited, time on page, referring website, approximate location at city or region level derived from IP address, device type, browser and operating system.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: see our Cookie Policy for the full detail.
  • Server logs: our hosting provider records IP addresses and request data for security and troubleshooting.

Cookies and advertising

This is the section that matters most on a site like this one, so it is the longest.

Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense to display advertising. As required by Google, we disclose the following:

  • Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
  • You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings.
  • Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting aboutads.info/choices.

Google’s own explanation of how it uses information from sites that use its services is available at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Consent management

We use CookieYes, a consent management platform certified by Google and integrated with the IAB Europe Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF).

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will be asked for consent before any non-essential cookie is set. You can change or withdraw that consent at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer of every page.

If you decline, you will still see advertising, but it will be non-personalized.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used: which guides are read, how people arrive, and where they leave. IP addresses are anonymized and we do not use Analytics to identify individual visitors.

You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Affiliate links

Some pages contain affiliate links. When you click one, the merchant may set a cookie to record that you arrived from this site, so that we are credited if you buy something. These cookies do not identify you to us. We only ever see aggregate, anonymous reporting.

See our Affiliate Disclosure for how we label these links and how they affect what we publish, which is: not at all.

WhatWhy
Email addressTo send you the newsletter or resource you asked for
Contact form submissionsTo answer your message
Usage data and analyticsTo understand which guides are useful and improve them
Advertising cookiesTo fund the site through advertising

We do not sell your personal information for money. Please note, however, that under some US state laws the use of advertising cookies may itself be classified as “sharing” or “selling.” See the US rights section below, and our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page.

Email and the newsletter

If you give us your email address to receive the inspection checklist or to subscribe to the newsletter, we use it to send you that resource and occasional emails about new guides. Nothing else.

  • We do not sell, rent or share your email address with anyone.
  • Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
  • You can also ask us to remove you by writing to admin@mobilehomehandbook.com.
  • Our email service provider processes the list on our behalf and is bound to use it only for that purpose.

The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Legal bases for processing, for EEA and UK visitors

  • Consent for non-essential cookies, analytics, advertising and marketing emails. You can withdraw it at any time.
  • Legitimate interests for security, fraud prevention and basic site operation.
  • Legal obligation where we are required to retain or disclose information by law.

International transfers

We are based in Spain. Some of our service providers, including Google, are based in or transfer data to the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA or the UK, those transfers rely on safeguards recognized under GDPR, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

  • Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.
  • Contact form messages: up to 24 months, then deleted.
  • Analytics data: according to Google Analytics retention settings, currently 14 months.
  • Server logs: according to our hosting provider’s retention period.

Your rights

If you are in the EEA or the UK

Under GDPR you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Spain, that is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, aepd.es.

If you are in the United States

Twenty US states now have comprehensive consumer privacy laws in force: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Washington.

Depending on your state, you may have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect and how it is used.
  • Access a copy of it.
  • Delete it.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, and of targeted advertising.
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.

To opt out of targeted advertising, use the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link, which appears in the footer of every page.

Global Privacy Control: we honor the GPC browser signal. If your browser or extension sends GPC, we treat it as a valid opt-out request from targeted advertising, with no further action needed from you. This is required by law in a number of states, and we apply it to all visitors regardless of where you are.

How to exercise any of these rights

Write to admin@mobilehomehandbook.com with the request. We will respond within the timeframe your law requires, one month under GDPR and 45 days under most US state laws, and we may need to ask a question to confirm the request came from you.

We do not charge for this.

Children

This site is intended for adult homeowners and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.

Security

We use HTTPS across the whole site, keep the platform and its components updated, and limit login attempts. No website can promise perfect security, but we take the ordinary precautions seriously.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change, for example if we add a new service. The “Last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version. Material changes will be flagged on the site.
